Install the latest firmware for your Riva Arena or Festival

Please Note: To do a firmware update, you must have your device connected to the network to do a Firmware update

When performing a firmware update on your own device, you must follow the instructions precisely to avoid any potential complications


Power On and Initial Setup

  1. Connect to Power

    • The blue LED will blink slowly.

    • Once boot is complete, the LED will turn white.

  2. Network Configuration (WAC)

    • If the white LED blinks slowly, use an Apple device to connect Riva Arena to your network using the WAC setup.

    • When the white LED stops blinking, the connection is successful.

    • If the connection fails:

      • Press and hold the middle (play) and left (<<) buttons on the device until the blue LED blinks.

      • This restores factory settings and reboots the Riva Arena. Try connecting again.

Find the IP Address of Riva-Arena

  1. Method 1: Router Management Page

    • Open Google Chrome and enter your router's management address.

    • Ensure your laptop is connected to the same network as Riva Arena.

    • Locate the device’s IP address in the router's web interface.

  2. Method 2: Discovery App

    • Download the Discovery app on your device.

    • Use it to find the IP address of the Riva-Arena.

    • Ensure the Apple device is on the same network as the Riva-Arena.

Firmware Update

  1. Open Google Chrome and enter the IP address of the Riva Arena in the URL bar.

  2. Access the Riva Arena web page and follow the steps to update the firmware (for firmware package, please see link above).

  3. The device will automatically reboot after a successful update.

Google Cast Update (mandatory)

  1. Open Google Chrome and enter <IP>/chrome_update.asp (e.g., 192.168.31.32/chrome_update.asp).

  2. Follow the instructions to upgrade Google Cast (for firmware package, please see link above).

Summary

  1. Power on the device.

  2. Configure the network using WAC.

  3. Find the IP address using your router or the Discovery app.

  4. Access the web page to perform a firmware upgrade.

  5. Update Google Cast from the same web interface.
